Top ten rock bands of all time
Here’s my top ten bands of all time
1. Marillion (with Fish) *
2. The Who
3. Black Sabbath
4. The Police
5. Pink Floyd
6. AC/DC
7. Bob Geldof
8. Radiohead
9. Peter Gabriel
10. Rush
* you might read this and say who the hell is Marillion or Fish? Back in the mid 80’s in the UK they were a semi-popular progressive rock band. First concert I ever went to was Marillion at the Glasgow Apollo (may it rest in peace) so there is some emotional significance there. They had a hit with Kayleigh
I now live in Australia where virtually no-one has heard of them!! Prog rock never really got this far south
Marillion are still around today minus Fish. Not as good in my opinion, and no longer prog rock – but still pretty good. Check ‘em out.
As you can see my leanings are generally in the rock genre, cant stand most of today’s crappy manufactured pop. But don’t mind some of the 80’s and 90’s manufactured pop! Guess it’s that emotional x-factor again.
So what’s yours?
Richard

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

The album continues with my favorite tracks‘ Shine’, ‘ Carved In Stone’ and‘ Guns Is Razors’. Throughout these tracks Alchemist demonstrates his unique production ability. On‘ Carved in Stone’ he used handclaps to give the beat a sense of continuity but lets the drums mess around them. Hearing his tracks without the vocals truly allows you to appreciate the layers of sound he arranges around the sample.
